Family Session FAQ

What is included in a family session?

Your family session is designed to be a relaxed, enjoyable experience from start to finish. Each session includes planning assistance (location + styling guidance), the session itself, and a curated gallery of professionally edited images. From there, you’ll have the option to purchase digital images, prints, or heirloom products.

How long is the session?

Most family sessions last between 45–60 minutes. This allows plenty of time for a variety of poses, candid moments, and individual shots of the kids.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are typically held outdoors at a beautiful location. I’ll help you choose the perfect spot based on the look and feel you want—whether that’s nature, urban, or something in between.

What should we wear?

Don’t worry—I’ve got you! After booking, you’ll receive help to coordinate outfits. I always recommend neutral tones, soft colors, and avoiding busy patterns so the focus stays on your family connection.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?

Totally normal—and expected! I approach sessions in a fun, relaxed way and never expect kids to sit perfectly still. Some of the best images come from candid moments, movement, and letting kids be themselves.

What happens if the weather is bad?

If weather isn’t ideal, we’ll reschedule at no additional cost. I always keep a close eye on the forecast and will communicate with you leading up to your session.

How do I book a session?

Booking is simple! Just choose your session type, select a date, and pay the session fee by reaching out to me. Once booked, I’ll guide you through the next steps to prepare for your session.

When will we receive our photos?

Your edited gallery will be delivered within 2–4 weeks after your session. You’ll be able to view, select, and purchase your favorite images directly from your online gallery.

Can we print our photos?

Absolutely—and I highly recommend it! I offer professional-quality prints and products designed to last for generations. These are far superior to standard consumer labs and truly showcase your images beautifully.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes! I offer limited mini sessions throughout the year (spring, fall, and holiday). These are shorter sessions at a set location and are perfect for quick updates.

Can extended families book a session?

Yes! Extended family sessions are welcome, but they require a separate session type to allow enough time for groupings and individual families.
